Little squirrel, little squirrel,
please go away,
you can come back,
some other day!
We’re all out of corn,
bird seed and suet,
but if you’ll please leave,
I promise to get right to it.
You standing at the window,
tapping on the glass,
chattering angrily at me,
will not speed me up,
just wait and you’ll see!
You’re very cute
with your black button eyes,
and your chubby little cheeks,
but those will do nothing,
except gather flies.
So, go away, go away!
Why won’t you leave?
I’ve never met
such an ornery old thing!
Ok, I’ll go buy you
all kinds of seed,
if you’ll just hush up
and listen,
and then leave me be!
